DIGITAL LITERACY CLUB: Digital Skills Showcase

On Friday, December 6th, the Digital Literacy Club at Bambino School wrapped up its term with an impressive showcase event in the Computer Lab. The event, attended by students, parents, teachers, and representatives from Digital Skills for Africa, celebrated the club’s achievements and highlighted the students’ progress in digital literacy.

Showcasing Innovation: The Club’s Portfolio Website

The highlight of the event was the students’ presentation of their project: a Portfolio Website for the Club. This website, entirely designed and developed by the students, featured:

  • The Club’s Purpose and Activities: Demonstrating how the club fosters digital skills development and creativity.
  • Key Partners: Recognizing the support from Digital Skills for Africa and Bambino School, whose collaboration has been crucial to the initiative’s success.
  • Club Member Profiles: Showcasing the individuality, skills, and contributions of each member.

The presentation showcased the students’ ability to apply their newly acquired coding skills to create a professional and functional website. It was a proud moment for everyone present, as the students demonstrated not only their technical abilities but also their teamwork and innovative thinking.

Celebrating Achievement with Certificates

A highlight of the event was the awarding of certificates to the students for successfully completing their first module, Introduction to HTML and CSS. This foundational course equipped the students with the skills to create and style web pages, providing a solid base for further digital learning.

Parents in the audience beamed with pride as their children received certificates, recognizing their hard work, determination, and creativity. The certificates served as a testament to the students’ efforts and a motivation to continue their digital education journey.

An Inspiring Day for All

The event underscored the power of collaboration between Bambino School and Digital Skills for Africa in creating a supportive environment for digital learning. Parents expressed their gratitude for the initiative, noting how it provided their children with essential skills for the future.

The showcase not only celebrated the students’ achievements but also inspired confidence in the transformative potential of digital literacy. It was a day filled with pride, joy, and optimism for all who attended.

A Foundation for the Future

As the term concluded on this high note, the Digital Literacy Club’s journey is far from over. The completion of the first module marks the beginning of even greater opportunities for learning and innovation. With strong support from their school, parents, and Digital Skills for Africa, these students are well on their way to becoming leaders in the digital world.

Congratulations to all the students and everyone who contributed to making the event a success!
