DIGITAL MALAWI | World Bank Project

During the second phase of implementing the World Bank funded Digital Malawi Project in partnership with the Malawi Government through the Public Private Partnership Commission, the Ntha Foundation, further developed the Digital Skills For Africa LMS platform. The platform was then incorporated into the Digital Malawi trainings to expand of their digital and media skills offering.

The Following are the initiatives achieved through the support provided by the Digital Malawi Project:

1. Training Content Development: 10 comprehensive courses were developed specifically for the platform, covering various aspects of digital literacy and skills necessary for the modern job market; you can access them here.

2. Pilot Training: Youths who participated in the project were thoroughly trained and assessed through assessments and quizzes, ensuring the effectiveness of the training and measuring the acquired skills.

Participants got access to the following courses on the platform: Introduction to Gamification, Graphic Design, Photography Production, Digital Marketing, Web Development, Online Safety, Search Engine Optimization, introduction to the Internet.

      About the Author

      Nthanda

      Founder of Digital Skills for Africa (alongside other organisations and initiatives), Nthanda is a digital media specialist and a graduate student based in Michigan, USA – pursuing an MBA at Michigan State University – Eli Broad College of Business, specialising in Supply Chain Management and Business Analytics. She recently completed her Master of Science in Entrepreneurship, studying the entrepreneurial opportunities posited by Africa's Digital Transformation, and how Africans can better model Information Management Systems for Development. Her Bachelor of Social Science double-majoring Economics & Demography, specialised in the socio-economic impacts of Women's Empowerment. Nthanda teaches Digital Media, Marketing, and Analytics.
