Represented by the Kwathu Kollective Managing Director, Ms. Rhoda Kamwaza, we were among the organizations that participated in the Afrilabs Malawi City Meetup event held at Mhub in Lilongwe. The event, hosted by Mzuzu EHub in partnership with AfrilLabs, brought together industry professionals, tech enthusiasts, and innovators to share knowledge, network, and explore the latest trends in technology and innovation.
CLOSING THE DIGITAL DIVIDE IN AFRICA
The event got us rethinking our why. It will take collaboration to close the #DigitalDivide in Africa, and we at the Kwathu Kollective are committed to the cause. Under the leadership of Ms. Kamwaza, we aim to work with you, to stand in the gap. Our methods is simple – We partner with international development partners and leading organisations to democratise access to digital resources and train #AfricasTechGiants.
Our Why:
DSA aims to address the digital divide by equipping individuals with essential digital skills, enabling them to participate fully in the digital economy, access information, and improve their socio-economic prospects.
Our Who:
(our target audience) – DSA targets individuals, especially those in underserved communities and marginalized groups, who lack access to digital skills and opportunities.
Our What:
(Closing the Digital Divide in Africa) – DSA provides comprehensive digital skills training programs tailored to the needs of diverse learners, empowering them with the knowledge and expertise to thrive in the digital age.
Our Where:
(Locations and Partners around Africa) – We piloted our work through the @KwathuKowork hubs, and presently scaling our efforts across the continent, partnering hubs and schools. DSA is expanding across various regions in Africa, with a goal to reach remote and rural areas where digital literacy and access are limited.
Our When:
We are presently working on our strategic roadmap, towards closing the Digital Divide. DSA will continue to offer training sessions and workshops regularly throughout the year, ensuring continuous learning opportunities for participants.
Our How:
DSA leverages a combination of online and offline training resources, partnerships with local organizations and governments, and community engagement initiatives to deliver impactful digital skills development programs across Africa.
