Digital Skills for Africa — Creator Terms & Conditions
Effective Date: 1st December, 2026
Platform: Digital Skills for Africa (DSA)
Programme: DSA Creator Marketplace
1. Become a DSA Creator
Digital Skills for Africa (DSA) invites educators, industry professionals, subject-matter experts, entrepreneurs, and educational institutions to create and deliver digital learning experiences through our platform.
Our mission is to expand access to quality digital education while helping creators share their expertise, reach new learners, and generate income from their knowledge.
Individuals and organizations may apply to become DSA Creators. Registration does not automatically guarantee approval or publication.
2. How It Works
As a DSA Creator, you can:
- Develop and publish original courses in your area of expertise.
- Set course prices, subject to DSA marketplace guidelines.
- Promote your courses to your own communities and professional networks.
- Deliver learning through the DSA platform.
- Access available course management and learner progress tools.
- Earn revenue when learners purchase your courses.
DSA provides the learning platform, enrollment infrastructure, payment processing, and marketplace discovery opportunities.
Creators remain responsible for developing, maintaining, and ordinarily promoting their courses.
3. Revenue Sharing
DSA operates two revenue-sharing models.
Creator-Led Sales — 85% Creator / 15% DSA
When a learner purchases a course through an eligible creator-owned referral link or another verified creator-led acquisition channel, the creator receives 85% of Net Course Revenue. DSA retains 15%.
DSA-Generated Sales — 70% Creator / 30% DSA
When a learner discovers and purchases a course through DSA’s own marketplace, recommendations, promotions, or other DSA-generated channels, the creator receives 70% of Net Course Revenue. DSA retains 30%.
Net Course Revenue means the amount received from an eligible course sale after applicable transaction-related taxes, refunds, chargebacks, and disclosed third-party payment-processing or transaction fees.
No additional marketplace commission is deducted before applying the revenue split. DSA’s share covers its platform services.
Any additional deductions or exceptional costs must be disclosed and agreed before they are applied to creator earnings.
Sales attribution will be determined through DSA’s approved referral-tracking and marketplace attribution systems. The detailed attribution rules will be provided before creators begin selling.
4. Payments and Earnings
Creators will have access to available records of eligible course sales and earnings.
Payouts will be made according to DSA’s published payout schedule, supported payment methods, minimum payout thresholds, and verification requirements.
Earnings may be adjusted for refunds, chargebacks, reversals, or fraudulent transactions.
Creators are responsible for providing accurate payment information and meeting applicable tax obligations.
Specific payout arrangements and any additional processing charges will be disclosed before commercial activation.
5. Course Creation and Quality
Creators are responsible for ensuring that their courses:
- Contain accurate, relevant, and appropriately structured educational content.
- Are original or properly licensed.
- Do not infringe the intellectual property rights of others.
- Include clear learning objectives and appropriate learning activities.
- Are suitable for the intended learners and proficiency levels.
- Are reviewed and updated when reasonably necessary.
DSA may review courses before publication and request improvements where needed.
DSA reserves the right to reject, suspend, or remove content that does not meet platform quality, legal, or safety requirements.
6. Course Ownership and Licensing
Creators retain ownership of their original educational content.
By publishing a course on DSA, the creator grants DSA a non-exclusive license to host, reproduce as technically necessary, display, distribute to enrolled learners, and promote that content through the platform.
This license also permits DSA to maintain access for learners who purchased or enrolled in a course before it was withdrawn, in accordance with the applicable learner access terms.
Creators confirm that they have the necessary rights and permissions to publish all submitted materials.
7. Promotion and Learner Acquisition
Creators are encouraged to promote their courses through their own professional networks, communities, organizations, and communication channels.
DSA may feature selected courses in newsletters, recommendations, campaigns, or other promotional activities.
However, DSA does not guarantee course sales, learner enrollment, income, or promotional placement.
Creators must use accurate descriptions and must not make misleading claims about course outcomes, credentials, employment opportunities, or earnings.
8. Certificates and Credentials
DSA may offer course-completion certificates or other learning credentials for courses that satisfy applicable platform requirements.
Publication on DSA does not automatically mean that a course is formally accredited, professionally licensed, or endorsed by an external institution.
Any externally accredited qualification must be separately authorized and clearly identified.
9. Institutional Creators
Registered companies, universities, training institutions, nonprofits, and other organizations may apply as institutional creators.
Organizations must designate an authorized representative and confirm their rights to the courses and educational materials submitted.
Institutional arrangements involving multiple instructors, licensed content, special reporting, or sponsored cohorts may require supplementary agreements.
10. Learner Information and Research
Creators may access only the learner information necessary to deliver and support their courses, according to their authorized platform permissions.
They must not misuse, disclose, sell, or independently market to learners using DSA-provided personal information without appropriate authorization.
DSA and the Ntha Foundation may analyze platform and creator activity to improve learning services, understand digital skills supply and demand, and support research into digital education and workforce development.
Research findings may be published in aggregated or appropriately de-identified form, consistent with applicable privacy requirements and DSA’s Privacy Notice.
11. Refunds, Course Removal and Termination
Course purchases are subject to DSA’s applicable learner refund policy.
Creators may request to withdraw courses from future sales. Such withdrawal does not automatically terminate existing learners’ access rights.
DSA may suspend or terminate creator participation in cases of fraud, intellectual property infringement, serious policy violations, or repeated failure to meet platform requirements.
Creators may discontinue participation subject to outstanding learner access, payment, and contractual obligations.
12. Changes to These Terms
DSA may revise these terms as its marketplace develops.
Creators will be notified of material changes. Changes to agreed revenue-sharing arrangements will not apply retroactively to completed transactions.
Continued commercial participation after applicable notice and acceptance requirements will be governed by the updated terms.
13. Apply to Become a Creator
Interested individuals and institutions are invited to register for consideration.
Applications will be reviewed based on expertise, proposed learning areas, professional experience, educational experience, and alignment with DSA’s mission.
Applications are expressions of interest and do not constitute employment, a guaranteed commercial relationship, or automatic approval to publish courses.

These terms describe DSA’s creator marketplace. Additional creator onboarding, payment verification, attribution, and operational requirements may apply before commercial activation.
